Itinerary

  1. 1
    Santorini Volcano

1 hr 30 min - Our first destination will be the famous volcano of Santorini! After 20 minutes sailing, we will reach Nea Kameni’s jetty. Should you are interested to be guided at the volcano, you should pay 2.5euro/ per person as an entrance fee. Then, you will walk to the volcano’s ridge with your guide and he is going to explain you everything about the history and the geology of the volcano. You will stay at the volcanic island for 1.5hr and in the end you will embark again to our boat for the next stop.

  2. 2
    Palea Kameni

30 min - Our next stop will be the island of Palea Kameni where the famous hot springs are located on the west side. A place that is really popular for its thermal waters. We will stop there for 30min at a distance of 30 meters from the shallow waters of Agios Nicholaos’ beach. The waters are mixed with mud that they are full of sulfur, iron and other metals coming from the volcano and they are very good for the skin, rheumatism, arthritis and other physical pains. Important Note : In order to reach Agios Nicholaos’ beach is essential to swim extremely well.

  3. 3
    Stop 3

2 hr - Next stop is the island of Thirassia. Thirassia is a miniature of what Santorini used to be several years ago. Today is a virgin island, still untouched by tourism and modern life style. The island of Thirassia is only 9 sq. km in size and has approximately 300 permanent inhabitants. We will stay there for 2 hours, so as to explore this picturesque and traditional village as well as to taste the authentic Santorinian cuisine. Should you wish, you can also walk at the main village of Manolas, which is the capital of Thirassia. The view over Santorini is spectacular from there.

Great tour, highly recommended!

Well organised and ran on time. We had a lovely time and the staff were very knowledgeable. Started off the day arriving to the port. Arrive early so you get a good spot on the top deck to see the views! You can pay €6 for the cable cars or walk roughly 30 minutes down the stairs to port (meeting point). Then you are taken to the volcano site which I would recommend walking with the guide. Get ready to work those leg muscles! The guide will stop to give you historical knowledge of Santorini which is very interesting! Then you are taken to the hot springs, the boat stops as near as possible and you need to be able to swim to the hot springs. It would have been nice to have been offered swim jacket for safety. Also would have been nice to spend a little longer in the hot springs as it felt like 5 minutes! The next stop is thirassia, we were tired so stayed near the port instead of walking up the mountain. There are some eating spots, we got gyros which were AMAZING and some lovely ice cream after. Overall highly recommend and was a lovely addition to our trip!

Great!

This was a great excursion! We went the last week of October and the water was still plenty comfortable (chilly at first but quickly got used to it). Some reviews recommended water shoes, but we went without them. There are a lot of rocks as the water gets shallow but they were smooth (we swam on our stomachs and felt with our hands after hitting our feet/legs on rocks). I’d recommend wearing your swim suit under your clothes as there’s only 4 bathrooms on board. Be prepared to get off the ship and start moving as soon as the tour guide is ready to go. They give you just enough time to follow along and see everything before it’s time to get back on board. We had just reached the hot springs before the ship called us back; so while there’s enough time to do everything, make good use of your time. We decided to take the hike up to the small town on the island. It only took us about 15 minutes, but it was pretty strenuous. The view is pretty but there’s only a couple of houses to see and 2 restaurants. We ate at the one called “Different”, and the view was great. We ordered a Greek salad, tomato cakes, and a kabob. The salad and tomato cakes came quickly and were great (until we found a hair cooked into the tomato cake) but the kabob never came. No one came back to the table so we had to flag a staff member down right before we had to leave to try and pay and make sure we weren’t charged. We also noticed some other tables asking for missing meat dishes as well. If we did this tour again, we’d just enjoy the 2 hours down below. If you do decide to hike up and eat, I’d recommend ordering something that requires little cooking time. Overall, this tour was great! We really enjoyed it and it was a great value for all that you get to see/do. The company was very friendly/professional as well.

Great tour to visit every island of Santorini archipelago! Feel the greatness and power of nature with your whole body.

A great half day tour to explore the volcanic parts of Santorini archipelago! Stepping on the sandy lava rocks of Nea Kameni to see still active crater, swimming in the hot spring of Palea Kameni, having a good walk uphill after a fresh sea food lunch with cats in Thirasia, then cruising back the deep blue ocean with amazing view of caldera of Thera, the main island. Our guide Ulysses and the ship crew were kind and helpful. If you are Santorini, this is the tour you want to experience! And if you want something extra: A ride back up the hill of Old Port of Thera with donkey taxi was also nice after this tour.
