The caldera of Santorini offers a wide range of beautiful impressions. Incredible scenery, white blue houses, and warm waters in the Aegean. Join this excursion and spend a day exploring the volcanic crater and other beautiful locations. Your tour starts with transfer from a specific pickup location to the Port of Athinios, where you board a boat for the journey to the volcanic island of Nea Kameni. Enjoy the incredible blue sea until you arrive at Nea Kameni. Walk down the soil path to visit the crater of the active volcano before the boat takes you for a visit to the hot springs on nearby Palea Kameni. The boat stops around 50 meters away from the hot springs and you can swim the green sulphur waters. Next, the tour takes you to Theresia Island, where you can visit the beach, you have time for a lunch and explore the traditional village of Manolas. On the way back to Athinios port, you sail underneath the stunning cliffs underneath Oia and you can enjoy the amazing scenery.

Santorini Volcano
6 hr - The tour starts with the bus transfer from the pick-up point to the Port of Athinios. From there it continues with the boat King Thiras to the lava island Nea Kameni where the boat makes a stop to give you the opportunity to walk up the ascending soil path and approach the crater of the still active Volcano. After seeing the crater you walk back down the dirt path to the boat which brings you to the second lava island Palea Kameni, where you find the hot Springs. The boat makes a stop around 50 meters from the opening and you can swim in the green sulphur waters of the hot springs, wet your feet or just enjoy the view. The tour continues after the hot springs to Thirassia Island which was once part of Santorini before the big Explosion of the Volcano. There you stay for two hours and you have the opportunity to do some activities like swimming on the beach of Thirassia, have lunch next to the Sea or just explore the Village of Manolas with its winding steps and traditional houses. On the way back to Athinios port where the tour ends you will cruise with King Thiras under Oia where the best pictures can be taken of the amazing cliffs and the breathtaking scenery.

Lovely day

Great trip pick on time a bit chaotic at port as to which boat you were on but apart from that a good day a long hike to volcano but worth it nice lunch in Thirissia then lovely boat ride under Oia then near coast back to port made better by happy hour. Would highly recommend Caldera Tours.

Nice experience

Nice day but very hot, making the climb to the top harder. Bring enough water, closed shoes and a hat. Not enough places in the shade on the boat.

Worthwhile cruise

Highlight was swimming in the volcanic hot springs but make sure everything you are wearing during and after is black. The springs will stain your clothing. Swimming at Thirassia is challenging because of the rocks- wear swimming shoes if you can.

Swimming in bay with the hot and cold water.

It was a good day out and the crew were most helpful. We were transported from and to our hotel in a comfortable vehicle.

Nice boat trip

Nice boat trip. Swimming in hot springs was not quite what it stated. Jumped into the sea and if you were lucky you found some pockets of warm water. The payment of €5 to access a very long climb to see a few holes that just looked like a quarry in the Uk. Don’t go in open shoes as the volcanic stones & sand will hurt your feet. Great views from the top but you can see them from other places on Santorini. I wouldn’t advise it on a hot day.
