About this activity

Ride a horse on a beautiful beach in the untouched nature in the south of the island ! Starting at the stables in Megalochori, ride along the paths of the vineyards and see their traditional layout, and along the south trails that lead to the secluded Eros Beach. These paths were created by the great eruption, which formed the island. As you ride you will see small gorges and ravines carved into the volcanic rock and can marvel at the unique Santorini landscape. At the end of the route you reach Eros beach, a long black beach with impressive rock formation cliffs as a backdrop. Ride along the beach and then head to the top of the hill to enjoy the panoramic view of the beach and the trails. During the ride commemorative photos will be taken of you and your horse, capturing your memorable experiences at all the best places.

Great trail ride to the black sand beach

We visited Santorini in late November 2022 & booked a small group 2-hour trail ride to the black sand beach. The couple who own the business were very accommodating & in communication as soon as I booked it. The horses were gorgeous & well cared for. My youngest is 8 & has minimal horse experience, so the guide tied a rope from her horse to his. I felt secure that she was in good hands. The trip began with a walk though the quaint town, then past vineyards & finally along the volcanic rocks (my favorite). On the beach the guide snapped a few photos of us. It was a great way to see more of this stunning island!

So glad we booked this one!

We had such an amazing time. It was a once in a lifetime experience. The staff was so sweet and helpful. The horses were beautiful and you could tell they were cared for very well. The ride was unforgettable. Our group was fairly small and we took a beautiful walk to the beach where we were the only people there to enjoy the most gorgeous sunset.

Excellent!

Excellent excursion and tour guide. We were late due to volume of tourists at our cruise port on arrival, but they waited for us so we didn’t miss out. Highly recommend!

Great family activity

Really enjoyed this. Tour was amazing with really great views. Lots of excellent pictures and the horses were obviously well taken care of and loved. My son wouldn't stop asking to go again for the rest of our time in Santorini. We took the sunset 2 hour tour.
